Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

We would like to get individual team pictures for all or our teams. The following is a schedule of when we will take the pictures and what they should wear.

Monday, 8/21–Optionals (Level 6-9). Please wear your competition long sleeve leotard.
Tuesday, 8/22–T&T. Please wear your long sleeve T&T competition leotard, with your hair in a bun.
Wednesday, 8/23–ALL Compulsory and Xcel (Level 2-5, this includes Fast Track). Please wear the Wildcard Exhibition leotard. Anyone whom normally does not practice this day coming for pictures is welcome to stay for practice until 7:30pm. Xcel should wear the long sleeve competition leotard.
Thursday, 8/24–Boys. Please wear a Wildcard T-shirt with black pants or shorts.

There is open gym this Friday 8/11 after morning practice from 12:30-2 p.m.  The last Friday afternoon open gym will be 8/18 even though there is NO morning practice that day.  This would a great opportunity for gymnasts to come in and run through routines or practice skills, as our first competition is only A MONTH away!!!

T&T practice is cancelled for tonight, Thursday, August 10th. Practice will resume as normal on Tuesday, August 15th.

In lieu of the events that have hit locally and nationally about the misconduct and predatory behaviors of coaches, Wildcard Gymnastics just wants to remind its patrons that we always have our gymnasts’ best interest at heart. Please report any suspicious incidences or odd behaviors that you may have noticed or your child has noticed. We are dedicated to making sure this is a safe environment for all. Make sure you discuss these things with your child, as uncomfortable as it may be, and be sure to be informed. The links listed below can help answer any questions you may have.

For your information, our head coaches are background checked every two years and also safety certified by USA Gymnastics. Our preschool and recreational coaches are carefully picked by the head staff. We do our best to make sure that they are informed of safe practices as well as conducting their classes in an appropriate manner. Should you see something that draws concern, please contact Amy or Ben immediately.

We have pretty much taught all the routines – please make sure your child knows them and watches them on Youtube and practice, practice, practice!

Handouts are available or print your own copy for home.  There are also Youtube videos that have the music as well as the bar routines if the girls want to see the correct shapes for Bars/vault too.

The next order will be placed August 11th. PLEASE make a payment by then (including the additional $35 fee); otherwise your warm-ups will NOT be ordered.

August 1st is National Night Out in Butler at Frontier Park.  The event runs 5-9 p.m. so we will have NO Team practices (Fast Track and T&T) on Tuesday night. Instead, gymnasts are asked to perform at  the two shows (6:30 and 7:30 p.m.).  Girls: Wear your new exhibition leotard; Boys:  Wear a Wildcard shirt and black shorts.   Level 4 and up may come to help with the obstacle course between 5-9 p.m.  There is still morning practice.

Tosa Night Out  – Wildcard will be performing at Tosa’s Night Out on Wednesday, August 2nd at the Milwaukee County Zoo. This event begins at 4pm and ends at 8pm. We will have two performance at approximately 5:30 and again at 7pm. When arriving at the zoo, please tell the employees you are with Wildcard Gymnastics so that you may enter and look for us at the Heritage Farm area. Because of this event, there will be no  TEAM practice Wednesday, August 2nd. ALL of our teams (Goldbugs, GoldbugsII, Fast Track, Level 2-4, Level 6-9, Xcel, Boys, and T&T) should be in attendance.  There will still be morning practice.  *There is possible rain in the forecast – If it is raining, we cannot put the mats down – so check the Blog and Facebook for cancellations.  

Below are a few reminders:

The first installment for meet fees for Levels 2-4 were due on July 24th. Please keep in mind that if meet fees are not paid, your child will not be able to compete. The first installment is very vital as we must have their USAG membership completed in order to register them for the meet. If you have not paid the 1st installment, please do so at your earliest convenience. $35 late fees will be applied if not paid on time. Please keep in mind your second meet fees are due August, 24th.

Warm up payments are due July 31st. If you are paying for your warm up in installments or one lump payment, the payment is due on July 31st. You must come in to make the payment. The July 31st deadline is a hard deadline. A late fee will be applied for payments made after July 31st. If payment is not made, your warm up will not be ordered. 

There will be no practice on Tuesday, August 1st. We will be participating in Butler Night out. Please be in attendance. Please see previous post for location and times.

Please remember that Optionals and Xcel first installment meet fees are due August 24th.  Also, if you have not submitted your new music you should do so as soon as possible and be sure to have your new routine choreographed.
