Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

The first installment of Meet fees for this coming competition season (Fall) will be posted on the 10th and charged/withdrawn on the 24th.  

Meet Fees
Meet fees may be paid in full by July 24th or in four installments starting in July.
Level 2 (this includes M/W Fast Track) – $675 (4 installments of $168.75 each: July, Aug, Sept, Oct)
Level 3 – $725 (4 installments of $181.25 each: July, Aug, Sept, Oct)
Level 4 – $775 (4 installments of $193.75 each: July, Aug, Sept, Oct)

 Level 5-9 – $75 per meet (available meets for optionals are identified by **) We will be expecting that Levels 5-9 will be competing at the home meets.  The $150.00 charge for these two meets will be charged July 24th.  Should we decide to pick up any other Fall meets, we will let you know. 

Please be aware that Badger State Games will be hosted by Wildcard Gymnastics on September 7th and 8th.  This will be an awesome meet and another chance for gymnasts to gain some competitive experience before the official season starts.  Cost for this meet will be (approximately/TBD)  $65 – look for the google doc to sign up.  Families will also be responsible for helping set-up, tear down, concessions, judges’ food, etc.  This is our chance to fundraise and show off how awesome Wildcard is – so please block that weekend to help.  Thanks!!! 

Monthly Tuition Fees

Here’s the little bit of info I have for the Turner Meet.

Tuesday 7/23 (3 pm) and Wednesday 7/15 (9 am) is Check in at Fort Wayne Turners.
(I don’t know if I can check everyone in or if individuals need to). I am assuming individuals might need to since you will need to drop off your child’s CULTURAL COMPETITION art piece. Most of you (unless I talked to you already or you turned in your form), I registered your art piece as a drawing. It is supposed to be matted and framed?, ready to hang to display. Please attach the label I will give you and make sure you bring it with you. For those of you leaving on Thursday or Friday, I will see if Stephanie can bring our kids’ stuff back with her – otherwise, if anyone else is staying until Sat, you can pick up your projects (and the rest of ours lol) then.

7/25/19 Model Drill/Exhibition Routine
At Northside HS – 7:00 PM (Arrive 6:40 PM ?)

Friday, 7/26
We may go to cheer on Stephanie and other Eastside Turner Members at the all ages competition at 9:00 am at Northside HS. 12pm is the tumbling competition – I don’t think we have anyone entered.

2 pm is the Track and Field Competition for those that entered at Northside HS.
Not sure about the specific events/times. TBD.

*If your gymnast, entered a Dance: Solo, Duet or Group (Sarah/Emily/Aaliyah/Mya  and Jessa/KK), they will schedule those for us.

** I will let you know more info as I get it.

Brookfield 4th of July parade : Fast Track, Gold Bugs, Level 2 and 3.

• We are number 57 ORANGE.  Staging is behind Brookfield Central High School.  There is a drop off area and then gymnasts should be walked to the ORANGE area.  Amy or Lindsey/Ally or another Wildcard parent my wait by the drop off area from 9-9:15 and after that please walk your gymnast to the Orange staging area.
• The parade begins at 10 a.m. and will travel west on Gebhardt Rd. to Calhoun Rd., then north on Calhoun to North Ave., and West on North Ave. to Norhardt, then south on Norhardt. The parade route is approximately 1.5 miles long.  We will need about 4-6 parents/older siblings (in Wildcard Gear) to help with the banner, brochures and passing out water.  Please sign up at the front desk. Thursday, July 4th there is no practice.

  Friday, July 5th there will be NO practice. Enjoy the holiday weekend.

Tuesday, July 2nd we will be walking in the West Allis parade.  We will be lining up at 6:30pm, we do not know our number yet. We will be lined up along 77th Street between Greenfield and Pierce (probably closer to Pierce). WE ARE NUMBER 83.  The parade runs along Greenfield Ave. east to 70th St. and proceeds south to National, ending at Veterans Park. There is a little festival after the parade. Please promptly pick up your child at the end of the parade (bring some money lol).  No evening practice.  We will practice Tuesday Morning!! Everyone is welcome on Tuesday Morning practice.  Fast Track kids can make up Tues and Thurs practices on Monday/Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 pm. 

Don’t forget to order your 4th of July Wildcard shirt!!!   I need about 6 people parents/siblings to help with the banner, waters, brochures….

We are planning to reorder warm-ups or order warm-ups for those gymnasts that do not have them.  Please fill out the google doc to  order your warm-up and please pay promptly at the front desk.  Orders are due by July 20th.  No warm-ups will be ordered without a complete payment.   

These are the same GTM warm-ups we ordered last year.  We will not be ordering new warm-ups until 2021, so if you need one or need particular pieces, please fill out the google doc or talk to Amy or Lindsey.   Amy and Lindsey can help with sizing if you aren’t sure too.  This will probably be our only order for these this year.

Amy is looking into another company to do NEW compression tanks/shorts, possibly half-tops, capris, AND BACKPACKS!!  They are doing a mock up for us now and hopefully a bundle price.  My guess would be that with the back pack it will be around $150-$200 to get back pack plus 3 pieces of clothing.   And… Amy is looking into custom bows so all our gymnasts can match.

We have one other T-shirt sale coming up.  Flyers will be distributed as soon as we get them. This one is for families too!  So get your WILDCARD MERCH!!  🙂

Parade reminders:

Do not forget a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray (for evening), gloves, and appropriate clothing such as sneakers and either your Wildcard leo, Wildcard T-shirt, or hoodie/warm up depending on the weather.

Girls are wearing black, purple and teal exhibition leos (short sleeve) and boys are wearing black Wildcard t-shirts & black shorts.  Any parent(s) walking in the parade(s) will also need to wear Wildcard attire.  Deck yourselves out in patriotic head wear, socks, skirts, etc.!  We are planning to have a Independence Day t-shirt available for parents, coaches and the boys to wear during the parade.  The girls that will be tumbling may purchase one but unless they are Gold Bugs, they should not be wearing it until after the parade.  (The shirts get in the way when tumbling – plus they are white/grey!).  Cost for this t-shirt is $12.  It’s super cute.  See below.  Please fill out this google doc if you are planning to purchase one.  Money needs to be submitted by Friday at the latest.

• • Wauwatosa 4th of July parade : All Boys and Girls level 4 and up.
    • Tosa Parade info:  Arrive at approximately 8:20 am in front of the Wauwatosa Civic Center/Public Library (or “White Area”) on 76th Street. We are number 64. The Wauwatosa Civic Center/Public Library is located across from Longfellow Middle School on North Ave and Milwaukee Ave (76th St). The Parade runs west from 80th & North Ave to 104th Street.  Pick up should be at the southwest Mayfair Parking Structure.  Please contact Amy 414-303-5195 or Ben 414-218-2022 if you have questions. However, Ben will be at the Tosa parade.  Amy is going to Brookfield with the littles.

      We will need 6 parents or older siblings to help with carrying the banner, passing out brochures and water to the gymnasts. Parents please sign up to help at the front desk for parades. We need sign holders and people to help pass out brochures. Make sure that you are in Wildcard gear or the cool t-shirt (see above).

      Gymnasts – please freeze a squeezable water bottle half full and fill up the remainder with water in the morning.  Don’t forget to wear sunscreen!!  And deck yourselves out in patriotic head wear!

We look forward to having a great week of practices and festivities. Please remember to drink a lot of water this week and next as it will be very very hot. Drinking water before, during and after practice will help your gymnasts feel their best throughout the day.

REMEMBER: IF it is raining, we WILL NOT attend the parades.  If the ground is damp, plan to go, but WET – NO!!!!  We don’t want injuries due to slick pavement.  IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGES OR UPDATES – CHECK THE FACEBOOK PAGE, BLOG and then WEBSITE. 

We will be hosting a “Back to School” meet on Saturday, August 3rd. This is a great opportunity for those who are competing a new level or missed their mobility last USAG season. All girls levels – including Fast Track and some Gold Bug II’s will be entered. This will be the perfect introductory meet for those who have not yet competed!

The meet will cost about $60 + USAG registration.
