*Thank you for all who helped and contributed to the success of the Back to School Meet.  We were really excited to see all our gymnasts and everyone did a great job.  We’ve got some work to do but I know we will be ready for the start of the season!

*Don’t forget to register for Badger State Games!  See a previous post in order to register or let us know at the front desk.

*Schedule a private lesson to tweak routines or perfect skills.   – see private lesson schedule!

** Bargainbows.com has graciously offered to make matching Team bows for our girls.  The price should be very reasonable!  I will post the official link as soon as they have it ready.  These bows are custom to match our leotards.  I would recommend purchasing two if you are doing a Ponytail or Bun (in case 1 gets lost) and 3 if you are planning to do pigtails.  If you are still unsure of how to do meet hair, check out Lindsey’s suggestions on the Team parents Facebook page or google gymnastics hair.  Amy and Ally can give you some ideas too.

Volunteer at the meet – we will need a few people to do admissions and concessions. Level 4’s should come to work the first session.

Re-set: We will reset the gym immediately following the final session. This should not take very long. All Team parents and gymnasts should plan to stay!

*Medals – if any gymnasts are looking to get rid of some of their old medals, we will gladly take donations of ones the kids don’t want any more. Please bring to the front desk.

Meet Buy-In

Normally we do a small meet buy-in to cover the cost of our concessions. Because this is a small meet we are asking each gymnast to please bring in ONE item from the list below. Please write the gymnast’s name on the soda or water.

Meet Prep Info

Please have hair pulled up neatly. It should be off the face and if their hair is long, then it should be up in a bun. Long hair not pulled up into a bun is a safety issue and it could result in the gymnast being hurt. Use gel and hairspray, and DO NOT use bobby pins.

The girls should also have a PURPLE/BLACK/TEAL (colors to match their leotard) ribbon or bow in their hair. (bows will be available to order soon)

Nail polish should match the colors of the leotard. Bare nails are perfectly ok.

NO UNDIES under the leotard. Think of it as a swimsuit.

DO NOT APPROACH JUDGES OR COME ONTO THE FLOOR at any time during the meet. Coming onto the floor or approaching judges could result in the loss of the sanction of that and future meets or the disqualification of the gymnast.

Eat before the meet. Do not send snacks to be eaten during the meet. No food is allowed on the floor. A water bottle with water is allowed. No juice or gatorade.

No hoops, dangly earrings or other jewelry such as bracelets and necklaces. Only studs are allowed.

Minimal makeup is allowed.

Please do not put lotion or perfume on your gymnast prior to competition. It can make the gymnast slippery which can be a safety issue for the coaches spotting.

Bring only what you need for the meet.

Your gymnast should wear their competition leotard.

If you have any questions, feel free to email or talk to Amy, Lindsey, or Stacy

Back to School and Badger State meets/USAG Memberships

Please respond to the Google Doc stating if your gymnast will be competing at the Back to School meet on Aug 3/4 and/or at Badger State on Sept 7/8.  We are needing to start making a roster of who’s competing so we can make a schedule.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe9ReEzrMcYoMMyZ5BCZLNEipuIYHyXP0GuchO5DmpWKZqIgw/viewform?usp=sf_link

Also, please go online and obtain a new or renew your gymnast’s USAG membership by July 31. If you haven’t received an email about memberships, please stop at the front desk. If they do not have their membership by July 31, your gymnast WILL NOT be able to compete in the Back to School meet. Having a USAG membership for the USAG season (including the Back to School meet) is mandatory. If you have any questions about the meets or memberships, please talk to Amy or Stacy.
