Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

Our music Ipod with all the girls routine music has suddenly disappeared…Does anyone have an old Iphone or Ipod they aren’t using that we can use for Music and Routines? We would greatly appreciate it!

Precision has not yet sent out an official roster yet, however, based on the number of registered gymnasts for each level, we believe these will be the times the girls will be competing. With this meet being in Oshkosh and some gymnasts competing on Friday, we wanted to get this out now so that you can have an idea of when your gymnast will be competing that weekend. The levels and times for each session are accurate, we are just waiting on confirmation of divisions for the athletes.

Due to the early arrival to the meet on Saturday, practice will end at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays. Please note, most Fridays (unless there is an early meet), practice will end at 8:30 p.m. Good luck gymnasts!!

If your child prefers a single bun – purchase at least two. Purchase at least three for pig tails. Make sure you have a back up!

MEET ETIQUETTE

Please don’t call the host gyms to ask about changing sessions or when the times are coming out.

Do check GOOGLE MAPS for your location and travel times and give yourself an extra 20 mins.

Please arrive on time (early) for your session; gymnasts should be already dressed at the meet. Meet hair should be tightly pulled back, and if a pony tail/bun – make it high. Avoid using bobby pins. Definitely do hair when its wet or use gel and hairspray. Use little elastics to pull up bangs and wispys. Google gymnastics hair and you will get some good tutorials. Amy likes a bow or ribbon – something to make their hair look polished. See bows above. Please make sure hair bows/scrunchies MATCH the leotard colors. Nail polish is okay as long as it matches and looks nice (take off old chipped polish).

Never approach judges – if you have concerns about something talk to Amy. Do not come out on the competition floor. If you need something, text Amy. If there is an injury, wait until you are asked to come out.

Bring a water bottle and maybe a snack but gyms do not like the kids eating on their competition floor.

Bring your exhibition leotard as a backup in case something should happen to the competition leotard. Bring a bag to put your stuff in or parents should take clothes and shoes.

Text Amy if you are going to be late or if your child is sick.

Remind your gymnast about good sportsmanship- not everyone is going to get a medal! We are looking to score 8.5s or higher. 9s are awesome!

Since there is no practice on Monday for Labor Day, we will offer an additional practice on Tuesday, 9/6 for Level 3s from 4:30-7:30 p.m. and Thursday, 9/8 for Level 2s form 4:30-7:30 p.m.

We are going to do a Mock Meet for Levels 2-4 on Sunday, 9/11 at Wildcard. We are not officially bringing in a judge but we will score the kids routines to give you and them an idea of what to expect at the first meet. We will allow parents in the gym but we ask that only 1 parent come in the gym, additional persons can watch in the viewing rooms or front office.

Participants will be charged $20 for the Mock Meet. We highly recommend your gymnast attends!

Gymnasts should wear their competition leotard and have meet hair done prior to arrival.
