Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

With the change in our coaching techniques and that the current Level 2s are excelling; we would like to invite the 2s to stay at practice Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30-7:30 and Fridays from 4:30-8:30. This will give us the time we need to finish perfecting the level 2 routines for State but also allow them to begin training the Level 3 skills so they can try the new Level during the AAU season.  This will start Monday. 🙂

Awards will follow immediately after each flight. T&T meets usually run ahead of schedule. It is good practice to show up 30-45 minutes early (unless you are in the very first flight in the morning). They will not wait on you to arrive to begin, so be sure to arrive early despite your start time. Please feel free to leave during the break. If doing so, return 30-45 minutes before you next scheduled time. Because T&T meets run long, be sure to pack things to keep your gymnast busy while waiting chattering and horseplay is discouraged and frowned upon. Tablets, ipods, phones, activity books, card games, etc help keep them from boredom and are allowed. If they are going to play music or watch videos be sure to have headphones as well. Water bottles are allowed but eating is usually not allowed on the floor. They are allowed to bring snacks but they must eat their snacks in the designated eating area. It is also suggested that they bring the following, a blanket, extra socks, a sweatshirt, and a pillow. Again, these meets are long. There is a lot of down time in between flights. They are allowed to rest if need be. It also gets cold in the building. Please let Coach Rhea know if you have any questions at all.

Friday practice will only go until 7:30 pm due to the Gymnasts competing in Green Bay this weekend. There will still be Open Gym but please let Amy or Ben know if you plan to stay in between. Let’s go Wildcard!

Reminder- no Team or Recreational classes on Monday, October 31st. Rec classes can make up with a similar class or ask for an open gym pass. Happy Halloween. Team members- join us for trick-or-treating – see previous post.

We are excited to announce our new apparel fundraiser.  Glitterstarz has everything you need with just the right touch of bling!  Need a bag, sweatshirt, or leggings?  Glitterstarz has it.

Our fundraiser will be run from Thursday October 27th until Friday November 11th.  Shipping will be free during this as long as you use the code WCG.  There is also free personalization! Orders will be processed (after the November 11th deadline).  From there it will take 2-4 weeks to receive. Just in time for holiday gifts!  Please take a look at the flyer below and check out the website. (Our store does not open until Thursday so start browsing then).  Our webstore will stay open after the November 11th deadline however, you will not receive free shipping on your items.

We have decided that the girls can wear their purple short sleeve exhibition leotards for practice.  We want them to be able to get as much use out of them as possible.  Fridays, are typically Spirit Days so feel free to wear them!  (Fast Track / T&T kids you can wear yours on Thursdays!)  Show off that purple!

We will start looking to order new Exhibition leotards and Warm-ups in Spring – We will do our best to keep the cost down!  Also, look for a new fundraising flyer to post soon – Order all your Wildcard Apparel – back packs, leggings, jackets, sports bras, sweat shirts and more!  We are super excited about this fundraiser.  If you don’t see something you would like, let us know, we can try to procure it.

There are still some Wild Wild West leos available for sale – $40 if you want to show your spirit.  Also, we should have some of the Blinged out Wildcard practice leotards coming soon.   Last year’s exhibition leotard is only $30 (GK brand).  And check the Proshop for new T-shirts – we just got a shipment in.  If you don’t see your size, just ask – purple, teal and black!

Join the Wildcard Family and go Trick or Treating on Monday, October 31st from 6-8 p.m.

We will be Trick or Treating in Wauwatosa in the Old Hillcrest Neighborhood (Amy’s parents’ live there!)  – Basically 69th – 73rd Street between Hillcrest & Lloyd St.   (2 blocks South of North Ave).  We will meet at 7127 W Lloyd St at 5:45 p.m.  Don’t be late!  You can try and catch up…  Wear your costume, appropriate clothing (warm? wet? Good shoes, socks, mittens?) and bring a bag for candy.  We will meet back at 7127 W Lloyd for pick up at 8:00 ish.  Please pick up your child promptly.  Here is the link to the website (not a very awesome link though).

There is NO practice and there are NO classes.  Gold Bugs, Boys Team, Fast Track and Girls Teams, T&T and Xcel are welcome to join us.  Parents with younger kids are encouraged to stick around – I do know that the older kids like to move FAST to get as many treats as possible!
