Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

Until we know more about meet season, we will not be processing the three $500 payments. We will process meet fees once we have a better idea of how the season will go (refunds/prices, etc). Use the $500 as an estimate for the first meet fee and be ready for a first payment at some point. We are working to get more information from Host Gyms, USAG and Wisconsin Gymnastics before making any commitments.

I will probably be running accounts for leotards and warm-ups by Friday. If you are paying another way – please pay by Friday at the latest!!

Can’t believe summer is almost over! Girls are really coming along! Lots of hard work.

We have added two more dates for camp this summer.  Join us July 27-30 and August 3-6 for Recreational Camp!  Ages 5 and up.  This Camp is for all ages and abilities, boys and girls.  Camp runs Mon-Thurs 9-4 p.m.  There will be gymnastics instruction, parkour, games, crafts and some outdoor activities.  Specialty activities include:
Mondays:  Make crepes and side walk chalk drawings
Tuesdays: painting and water games
Wednesdays:  tie dying
Thursdays:  friendship bracelet making
Sign up online.  $350 ($75 discount if you register for July and Aug session together!)

We are also offering Morning Gymnastics Camps on Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays. Does your gymnast want to learn a cartwheel, back handspring or how to swing on the bars.  This is open to Beginner- Advanced level gymnasts that want to improve their skills or learn at a faster pace.  $ 150 per week.  Classes run 9-noon.  Register under Camps. 

Fall Gymschool – We at Wildcard Gymnastics aim to give you a situation where your child can learn in a much safer, family-friendly environment and more controllable environment than in a traditional school or at home.   Both Amy and Ben have an education back ground (Amy has a Masters in Reading) and we are offering to help you if your child’s school is going virtual in the Fall.  We totally understand the frustration and difficulties parents are facing when having to work from home AND teach their children.  Your child will receive individualized attention and instruction, if he/she needs help on lessons or virtual activities.  We will make sure they are not missing Zoom meetings or assignments.  In addition, once school activities are completed, Wildcard will provide gymnastics and other physical activities within the facility.  There will be a scheduled literacy time as well as other extra curricular activities; such as cooking, science labs, language learning (Amy is fluent in French) and more!  Cost is $45 per day or $200/ week.   We are only accepting about 25 students for Gymschool (which the 23,000 sq foot facility can easily accommodate and keep your child safe). The CDC recommendation is no more than five people per 1,000 square feet, so we can easily manage up to 25 people in the building with plenty of space to social distance. Please email us if you are interested in Fall Gymschool:  Amyg@wildcard-gymnastics.com  or let us know if you have any questions.  Students must have their own computer and bring their own lunch/snacks.  This is a great alternative for working parents.  Your child will be monitored, instructed and give opportunities for physical activity and extracurriculars.  The building will continuously be cleaned (like we do for classes/team) and students will practice social distancing protocols.

Is your child’s school shut down due to Covid?  Are you tired of trying to teach your own child?  Wildcard is planning to offer Gym School Mondays-Fridays from 8 a.m-4:30 p.m.  Amy and Ben are both teachers and are more than willing to help your child with his/her lessons.  Gym school will provide supervision during digital learning, activities, open gym and more.  Registrants should bring their own lunches/snacks and water bottle.  Please bring your computer if you are doing online classes.   August 24th (Tentative) start date.  Cost:  $45 per day or $200 for the entire week.  ($40 per child if registering more than one child).  Maximum of 25 students per day.  (Team gymnasts have first priority.)  Please email Amy at amyg@wildcard-gymnastics.com if you are interested or for more info.

• Meet fees – $1500 (not including State/Regionals/Nationals or the Lambeau Leap meet.  3 installments of $500.

Meet fee installments will be 3 payments of $500 (August 15th, September 15th, October 15th).  You may pay weekly or bi-weekly but payment is due on the 15th and your card will be run that day.  Please make a payment at the front desk before practice starts or let us know how you would like it paid.  Gymnasts will not be registered for meets without the August payment!  Meet fees are non-refundable!  (No refunds are given for gymnasts if they cannot attend a meet – sorry!).  Meets are usually 1 day out of the weekend.  We wont know until about 2-3 weeks before the scheduled date as to when your child will compete.  We will let you know on meet requirements for spectators/gymnasts as we go along. 

Due to COVID – the compulsory (Levels 2-5) season was pushed to October – March.  This means that gyms that host off-site at a venue charge more to cover the venue’s fees.  Unfortunately then, compulsory meet fees are the same price as optional meet fees!  If anything changes – we will let you know if there is a fee reduction. 

AAU – Typically in order to qualify for AAU State/Districts, Regionals or Nationals gymnasts must compete 2 AAU meets.  We don’t have a schedule for these yet and will let you know when they are added.  

USAG – Gymnasts must qualify for State based on their All-Around Score.
L2 – *33.00 (not required)

Hi all, although summer feels like it has just started, we have to start thinking about the Fall practice schedule.  Hopefully, as long as Brookfield doesn’t activate any other restrictions, our plan is that the Girls Team will continue to practice similarly to the summer schedule (see photo below).  However, if we get more than 2-3 girls added per group, we may need to switch the practice days and times. So we will have a contingency plan in case we need to have fewer numbers in the gym. The names included on the schedule are the gymnasts that are planning to compete – if your gymnast has not returned to practice yet, please let us know when you will be returning.

* Make sure you have checked the blog (www.wildcard-team.com) regarding competition leotards and warm-ups. We are still waiting on meet confirmations to try and determine our meet schedule. All teams will be competing October-March & the Spring/Summer AAU Season (Nationals will be in Disney World!).

Hi all! It’s time to order new warm-ups and leotards. There are some exciting new add-ons too (onesies! Custom shoes! Backpacks!)…Parents, we will try to do a new t-shirt/spirit wear order for Fall and Winter too. Parents/siblings may order the Team jackets/capris, shoes, and backpacks. Just include in the payment and be sure to get us sizes! *Amy will be sizing your gymnast for the leotard and warm-ups/capris. ALL gymnasts must order the long sleeve leotard, short sleeve leotard, Warm up jacket and capris. We are hoping to get new tank tops/shorts later this year. If you are ordering the shoes, order a size or two up.   ORDERS DUE JULY 27th!!

We have been successfully having team practices for the last few weeks. Covid protocols are in place and the gymnasts and coaches are doing a great job staying safe! Recreational classes start on Saturday! (If you were previously registered for the Spring session during which we had to close, please pick your class time and let us know so that we can get you registered for the Spring/Summer classes).

From the responses we received of team gymnasts planning to return June 15th, the 2020 6/15 Schedule Girls UPDATED will be in effect to maximize our coaches and groupings. Again, before you come, we ask that you read through the Covid procedures and be prepared to sign a copy for our files. Do not send your gymnast if he/she is not feeling well or has a fever. We will continue monitoring temperatures and gymnasts should have their own water bottles and chalk containers. Chalk is available for purchase for $5 a block. We would love your donations of liquid hand sanitizer or Odoban / micro ban cleaners.

If your gymnast is not on the schedule, we just haven’t heard from you yet. Please let us know when you plan to return. We are looking forward to a great summer!
