Peanut Allergies

For the health of our team, we are asking that any snacks brought to practice be peanut-free. We have several gymnasts with peanut allergies, and have recently had some reactions. Please do not send anything with peanuts or peanut butter to practice. Other nuts are fine or things that say “may contain peanuts”. As long as it is not a main ingredient, we should not have any problems. If your child does eat something with peanuts, they need to wash their hands before coming to practice or touching the equipment.
Thanks for your help with this!

Pasta is sorted and ready for pick-up

Pasta orders are ready for pick-up at the gym.  Please note that some boxes are missing a particular pasta. Those are being shipped shortly.  Please double-check through your orders and make sure you have everything on your order form, as well as return any items that may have been put with your order accidentally.  We expect late orders and replacement of missing items relatively soon.

Thanks for supporting Wildcard and participating in the Fall fundraiser.  It’s an essential part of helping Wildcard raise money for new equipment, pay for coaches’ education, and off set your costs.

For those gymnasts who just finished/are finishing the girls’ Levels 3, 4 and 5 there are additional competition opportunities available in the off-season in AAU-sanctioned competition. There are also additional opportunities for boys following their season and competition opportunities available in the new discipline of Freestyle Acrobatics for both boys and girls.

April 20-21 — AAU Central District Championships — Loves Park, Ill. (includes a the District leotard)

* Fall season Level 4 & 5 gymnasts who did not qualify for state will be automatically entered in the Wildcard Cruise Classic. If you wish to participate in the other AAU meets, reduce payment by $35. We would like to highly encourage gymnasts who didn’t qualify to State to use these meet opportunities to gain more competitive experience.
** This meet may not be held due to low participation numbers. Should it be cancelled, we will replace it with another meet.

Meet fees for the 2013 off-season girls’ compulsory meets includes membership in AAU, which is required for gymnasts to compete. The optional level gymnasts are already registered for the Wildcard and AAU District meets. The spring season new Level 2/3s (former Fast Track and Gold Bugs II) are registered for all of these meets in addition to the M&M Meet in January.

Level 3 — $185; Level 4 — $225; Level 5 & 6 — $235

Your level will be determined by your coach, although most gymnasts will compete the level that they competed during the current season.  Registration for these off-season competitions are due by Dec. 20. Final payment may be made by Jan. 15.

To participate in Nationals or Junior Olympics, gymnasts must have competed at the Central District meet and earned a qualifying score.

Freestyle Acrobatics Meets
Feb. 9 — Wildcard Cruise Classic — Brookfield
Mar. 9-10 — Gymtastics Spring Invitational — Watertown

Freestyle Acrobatics includes elements of traditional gymnastics, parkour, freerunning, martial arts, breakdancing and more into a safe, developmental program for athletes of all ages.  It’s really simple and lots of fun. We’re hoping to have at least 10 athletes compete at our home meet. There are one or two other clubs planning to come to the Freestyle Acrobatics meet.
