Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

Join the Wildcard Family and go Trick or Treating on Monday, October 31st from 6-8 p.m.

We will be Trick or Treating in Wauwatosa in the Old Hillcrest Neighborhood (Amy’s parents’ live there!)  – Basically 69th – 73rd Street between Hillcrest & Lloyd St.   (2 blocks South of North Ave).  We will meet at 7127 W Lloyd St at 5:45 p.m.  Don’t be late!  You can try and catch up…  Wear your costume, appropriate clothing (warm? wet? Good shoes, socks, mittens?) and bring a bag for candy.  We will meet back at 7127 W Lloyd for pick up at 8:00 ish.  Please pick up your child promptly.  Here is the link to the website (not a very awesome link though).

There is NO practice and there are NO classes.  Gold Bugs, Boys Team, Fast Track and Girls Teams, T&T and Xcel are welcome to join us.  Parents with younger kids are encouraged to stick around – I do know that the older kids like to move FAST to get as many treats as possible!

Yay!  It’s time for the Wild Wild West Meet!  Go Wildcard.

In the spirit of the week:

Monday – Wild Wildcard Colors!  Wear purple, teal, silver and really show off your gym pride!

Tuesday – Western wear!  Giddy up!  Dig out your cowboy/girl duds!

Wednesday – Halloween Spirit!  Wear your Halloween costume!

• Reminder there is no practice on Thursday or Friday this week because of meet set-up and the Tour of Champions.  Make sure you pick up your tickets and drop off your supplies.  If you haven’t signed up to help at the meet, there are plenty of sessions available.
• ALL competing gymnasts should be coming to practice Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
• L2s 4:30-6:30
• L3s 4:30-7:30
• L4s & Optionals:  M 4:30-8:30, T 4:30-8:30, W 4:30-7:30

Thursday – Meet set up begins at noon!  Please get there as soon as you can.  We will need help decorating, cleaning and setting up.  The more people we have the faster it will get done.

Saturday – Competition Day.  Please be sure to make it to your scheduled shift.  If you can help out with another session that would be awesome!   Optionals and older  gymnasts should plan to help out all day.   Gymnasts and parents in the last session, please plan to stay for an hour to do some initial cleaning and tear down so we can get the gym entirely set up on Sunday.

Sunday – Reset the gym.  Please come and help us put the gym back in order on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.  We are hoping if we have enough help that we will be finished by 1:00 pm.

Hey all!  It’s finally here! – Take a look at the Google Doc and see what you are asked to bring.  ALL team members and pre-team members are asked to donate a concession item as well as volunteer to help with the meet.  Anyone that does NOT bring their assigned donation or does NOT sign up to volunteer, will be charged $50 for each.  This is in lieu of the fact that we do not have a Booster Club and additional Booster Club fees.  Since we only host 2-3 competitions per year, this is how we offset those fees.

Please let us know ASAP if you have any questions.  Anyone who would prefer to BUY OUT their donation, the cost is $30 and must be paid before Wednesday, October 12th.  Non-perishable Donations may be dropped off at anytime before Wednesday, October 12th.  Perishables should be here Friday or Saturday – check with Rhea, Amy, Nancy or Vonett.

Raffle Baskets – we did not assign any items, however, we are hoping to have at least 1-2 Raffle Baskets per session of the meet.  If you don’t mind donating something here are our themes (but feel free to donate ANY re-gifts or unopened items!)  Please drop your Raffle Basket donations at the front desk.  Thanks!!

Reminder:  There will be NO practice for anyone on Thursday or Friday, October 13th & 14th.  All teams can practice on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – regular practice times.
We will begin putting together Goody Bags on Wednesday; cleaning the kitchen & dance room; and putting up decorations this week and early next. Please check the blog for the Sign-up Genius link to sign up to volunteer.  We will do major moving/set-up on Thursday afternoon and evening and then finishing touches on Friday morning/afternoon.  If anyone can help, that would be great!

Lastly, there are about 30 leotards remaining for the Wild West Meet. If you did not pre-order one, you can purchase one now and the rest will be for sale at the meet. Cost is $40.

Meet Concession Items

Hello Wildcard Families!

As you all know our Host Meet is Saturday, October 15th.  We are asking all of our Gold Bugs II, Fast Track (Purple and Silver), Level 2-4, T&T, Boys Team, Xcel (Bronze and Silver), and Optional team families to assist with various tasks.

Thursday, October 13th-We will need lots of muscle.  We will need as many bodies on hand to move and set up equipment.  We will need to rearrange the gym for the meet along with  putting or goodie bags together. Although our Sign Up says 20 people, we need much more than that.  Stop in Thursday to assist us if you are unable to sign up.

Friday, October 14th-We will put the finishing touches on the gym.  This will be done in the morning.  Please stop in at 9am to help.

Saturday, October 15th-There are various areas where we will need you help. This is usually done in shifts with the exception of the Captains.  Captains will be expected to commit to all day and supervise the area they signed up for.  Captains will receive a discount on tuition if they commit to the tasks.  For all of the areas in which we will need help, please sign up online at Wild Wild West 2016 Sign Up.

Sunday, October 16th-Once again, we need a lot of muscle.  We will set up equipment and rearrange the gym back to its normal state.

Leotards are here if you ordered them. Amy should have them ready to pass out by Friday at the latest.

There will not be practice for anyone (Rec, Gold Bugs, Boys, or Team) on October 31st!  Go out and enjoy the holiday – just remember to bring Amy a Reese’s Cup.

Starz in Green Bay is hosting an Optional Session on October 29th-30th.  (I’m guessing they will compete the last session on Sunday…not a guarantee) – But this is a great opportunity to try your “new” level after the Wild Wild West Meet.  In addition, it is USAG so we have the opportunity to qualify for State or the next level!  Please let Amy or Rhea know if you want to attend by  October 12th. Cost is $80.
