Memorial Day Parade info

BOYS’ & GIRLS’ TEAM, FAST TRACK, DRAGONFLIES & GOLD BUGS

Parade Attire: Tennis shoes with socks, (ideally, black) stretchy winter gloves to protect hands from the road, and the New Memorial Day Leo/Merch or Wildcard Exhibition leotard. We know not everyone has the exhibition leo, but there are some sizes available in our pro shop and a VERY limited supply of memorial day Merch available. If nothing else, please wear purple or Wildcard apparel. Remember a DISPOSABLE water bottle with Sport Top (to pass) and sunscreen. You can wear red, white and blue gear but don’t bring a ton of extra things with because there will be limited spaces to carry extra items. *Be prepared for the weather!!

Parade Date: Monday, May 25th

Parade Start Time: 10:30am

Reporting Time: 8:30am -9:15am

(Streets will close shortly after and you will be unable to get through)

Reporting Location: Elm Grove Village Park

Drop Off Locations:

All drop offs before the parade will be at Elm Grove Village Park. You must drive North to South on Legion Drive. There are two drop off locations. The first location is at the footbridge located at the intersection of Legion and Elmhurst. There will be a  large “DROP OFF HERE” sign and Junior Guild Volunteers in neon safety vests to help direct you or  your child to the appropriate staging area. This is a great place to drop off young parade participants! There is NO PARKING or PROLONGED STOPPING near the footbridge.  We will try to have older gymnasts or parents to help walk kids to the spot. We don’t know our staging area just yet. But we usually have a shade tent so look for that. This is probably the best drop off spot.

As in the past, the 1.2 mile parade route will begin at the Village Park and end at Elm Grove Road and Wall Street.

Pick up– please plan to pick up your gymnast near the BMO Harris at the end of the route (Behind/Kitty Corner) from Sendiks. Please be prompt. I would park your vehicle somewhere near there so gymnasts don’t need to walk all the way back to the parade start.

We could use about 4-5 parents to help with waters and brochures and rounding up children. Let Amy know if you can help! You must be dressed in Wildcard Apparel.

There will be no practice Monday night
