Badger State Games – not going!

Badger State Games decided to change the date of the meet AGAIN (they did this last year) to the following weekend, so Wildcard will NO LONGER be participating because many of our gymnasts will already be gone for Nationals.  (In addition, they were told ahead of time to NOT schedule the meet right before Nationals, and many of the clubs that were planning to attend, are not going either.) Hopefully, we will participate next year.  Sorry!

West Allis A La Carte – Sunday, June 3rd

Our first performance (and possibly only!) of the summer is coming up on June 3rd.  Wildcard will be performing two exhibitions at West Allis A la Carte on Sunday, 6/3.  We perform at noon and 3p.m. (but I just heard they had a cancelation at 4, so maybe we will stay a little longer?? – TBD).  The shows usually last about an hour.  Please arrive about 15 minutes early to help set up the mats and get stretched.

Keep in mind if it is hot – wear sunscreen and socks!!  Bring water to drink!  Bring your own chairs if your family wants to sit – there’s not a ton of seating.  It’s a fun event though.

We will be performing at the Variety Stage located on the north side of 75th & Greenfield.  If it is raining or the ground is wet, we will not be able to put the mats down and the show will be canceled.  If the ground is dry in time for the show, we will be ready to go!  Please wear your Wildcard Exhibition/Short Sleeve leotard. If you don’t have one, wear one in black or purple.

All teams are invited – the T/TH Fast Track is welcome to come but they don’t know the routines.  Gold Bugs I and II have been working on their routines, so they should attend.

If any parents want to volunteer some time at the Wildcard booth, particularly during or before a show, that would be great!  We are booth 101 located right near the Variety Stage.  Please let us know if you would like to relieve Amy or Ben for a little bit!

Ask Amy, Lindsey, or Vonett if you have any questions.

PS – Thanks for all who turned out for the Memorial Day Parade!  The kids did an excellent job tumbling through the heat!  We’d love more volunteers and a more kids to attend next year!  Please remember we participate in the July 2nd (West Allis parade) and the Brookfield and Tosa July 4th parades.  We will need probably about 6-8 volunteers to help during those parades as well. You must have a Wildcard shirt to participate!  That info should be coming out soon!  Sign up at the front desk to help!

Elm Grove Memorial Day Parade

The Elm Grove Memorial Day Parade is just a few weekends away! All teams and pre-teams should plan on participating if they can. (GB2 & FT that’s you!)

GIRLS If our new exhibition leos aren’t here on time please plan to wear your exhibition leos from last year.  If you do not have one you can purchase one from the pro-shop or wear any purple or black leo you have.

BOYS – Wear a Wildcard t-shirt and shorts.

ALL GYMNASTS need to be wearing tennis shoes and stretchy gloves. (The cheap kind of gloves you can buy in the winter and sold year round at Dollar Tree!)  Your child should bring a FROZEN disposable water bottle and no other extra items as they will not be able to carry a bag and we will not have room for it. Be sure to wear sunscreen!! In the past it has been a hot day and there is a lot of waiting around.

Parents and older siblings may join us in the parade but they MUST be wearing a Wildcard shirt. (Available in the pro-shop) If you are in the parade you will be put to work. 🙂

DROP OFF time is 8:45am-9:15am (streets will close shortly after and you will be unable to get through)

All drop offs before the parade will be at Elm Grove Park. You must drive North to South on Legion Drive. There are two drop off locations. The first is at the footbridge off of Legion and Elmhurst.  There will be a large “DROP OFF HERE” sign with volunteers to help direct you to your staging area. There is no parking or prolonged stopping near the footbridge.  The second location is at the flag pole outside of the town hall building. Please access this location through the main park entrance off of Legion.  Only vehicles participating in the parade will be allowed to drive past the flag pole. All other vehicles will be directed to exit on Juneau.

The Parade starts at 10:30am and Wildcard is usually near the end of it. The 1.2 mile parade route will begin at the Village Park and end at Wall Street off of Elm Grove Road (Behind Sendiks). We recommend parking and sitting near the end of the route so it’s easier for you to get your child.  Pickup is at BMO Harris – Please be prompt. 🙂
