Mock Meet – Levels 2-5 Saturday 8/30

Level 2: 9-11:30 a.m

Level 3: 12:00-1:30 p.m.

Level 4-5: 2-3:30 p.m.

• Wear your competition leotard, make sure hair is done.
• There is not a lot of room in the gym. We ask that you limit viewing to 2 family members, overflow will be in the lobby or viewing rooms.

Trunk or Treat – Oct 18th – Sign up to create a trunk. Gymnast sign ups to participate coming soon.

I know we are just getting to compulsory competition season – however, many of the Winter Season meets have registration deadlines in October!  So I am getting this out now so you can plan ahead.  There will be 5 competitions offered (not including AAU State/Regionals/Nationals or USAG Optional State (Levels 6 & up).  Each competition will be “a la carte” pricing.  To qualify for AAU State – gymnasts need to compete in at least 2 meets (3 preferred).  It is highly recommended for Levels 2-5 to compete in these “off-season” meets, plus they are a lot of fun.  We will send one last reminder before the due date of each meet to double check participation, but if you sign up and do not let us know that you are not going to attend, your account WILL be charged!  

Sign up for the upcoming competitions and indicate which ones you expect to participate in.  Please be aware if you would like to do AAU or USAG (gymnasts may compete in both!).  Optionals should plan to do both USAG and AAU.)

Great job Girls Team! You made it through the summer! Now start perfecting those routines! Fall practice times begin on Monday! Refer to the previous post for the schedule. Thanks for working so hard! Can’t wait for competition! Levels 2-5 – We registered for all the meets – there is one change: Nov 8-9 we will be going to Baraboo instead! Level 5s – you are registered for: Judges, Racine and Oshkosh (I believe) – possibly Infinite too.

Watch your routines!! Now that we’ve learned the routines – gymnasts should be practicing their routines (without the tumbling). Please refer to the handout and watch the videos! There is a link on the blog or click here. We will work on perfecting the routines in practice but gymnasts are responsible for memorizing them! If your gymnast does not know the routine, please schedule a private lesson! * There are still gymnasts missing skills! You NEED to schedule a private lesson!!!! Open Gym switches back to evenings on Fridays as of 8/15. Join us after practice from 7:30-9 p.m. Invite your friends! $10 for team/ $15 for non-team.

We will be holding team practice tonight! Still no AC in the lobby, but the gym has stayed cooler today than it did yesterday. We’ll plan to take some breaks to stay cool.

It’s holding at 83 degrees right now in the gym, but if it gets much hotter, we may have to cancel tonight. Amy will make the call around 2:30 p.m. Check the blog or Facebook (we will try to email and text as well IF there is NO practice).

Practice is cancelled for all team tonight, 7/28. Our AC went out this morning, and it’s getting too hot both in the gym and the lobby. Hopefully we’ll be back up and running tomorrow, but be sure to check in. Enjoy your night off and stay cool!
