Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

Competition leotards – For any of the NEW Level 2s that do not own the current competition leotard – the cost will be $130. We have most sizes in stock, except for the smaller ones, so we will need to order those. We will order/give you your long sleeve competition leotard, once payment has been made. I would like to order the leotards by next week so they are here in time for competition. Please have payments made by July 1st at the latest. If anyone in other levels needs a new competition leotard, please let us know ASAP in case we need to order any. We do have some of the team jackets and capris available too. Cost is $50 for the Team jacket and $40 for the capris. We will be trying to get back on our 2 year cycle again: new long sleeve leotards next year 2024 and new jackets/capris 2025. If you are interested in purchasing a jacket/capris in sizes we do not have in stock, there will be an additional fee for the company to make/ship to us.

Routine Clinic – Mark your calendar for July 9th so your gymnast can learn her routines for floor and beam. Level 2s: 9:00-11:30 a.m. and Level 3s: 11:30-1:30 p.m. Level 4s will learn their routines on July 11th (Tuesday) from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Remember – No morning practice on 6/27 or 6/30. Evenings as usual for team. No Team practice 7/1-7/5 for 4th of July and Nationals. Practice resumes as usual 7/6.

*We apologize – we failed to include the 4th meet fee. There will be FOUR installments of $225. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please make sure to register/re-register your gymnast for USA Gymnastics. Any gymnast that does not have a USAG membership or the first installment paid cannot be registered for competition.

^State cost (and pickup meet cost) is not included in the compulsory meet fees since each athlete must qualify for State.

Meet Fee Schedule

Meet fees cover 6 meets and will be added to your account in four installments. This is a full season and not one from which you can pick à la carte. The installments will run June 15, July 15, August 15, and September 15.  Each installment will be $225. State will be $125 (assuming USAG does not raise prices from last year) and added to the gymnast’s account upon qualification. State fee will run, if not already paid, Nov. 20.

June 26-30 there will be NO AM PRACTICES due to a lot of team and coaching staff being at AAU Nationals – GOOD LUCK TO THOSE COMPETING!

For the holiday weekend, we will have no practice July 1 – 5. We are back at it on Thursday, July 6.

ROUTINE CLINIC- JULY 9, times TBD

Gymnasts – should wear their exhibition (short sleeved leotard) & black shorts (if absolutely needed). Please have hair pulled back, competition style with a bow or scrunchie or some sort of matching hair accouterment. We would like gymnasts sporting Wildcard apparel in the stands. *If your gymnast does not have the exhibition leotard, please wear purple or any of the former Wildcard tank leotards. Some make up or glitter is fine – we don’t need a team looking like Lady Gaga.

Boys – Please wear a black Wildcard T-shirt and black shorts.

Parents – please show your Wildcard Spirit by wearing Wildcard apparel or purple! There’s lots in stock!

Please register to help – We will need help loading mats and getting them on the field. If you are able to come Friday night at 6:30 or so, we will plan to practice with getting the matting.

Sunday, June 4th- Please arrive at the ballpark NO LATER THAN 12:15. After going through the ticket gate, gymnasts will meet at the 1st Base Gate. Gymnasts need to be at the meeting point by 12:45. The performances will take place before the first pitch. *We will let parents know if any additional help unloading equipment, etc is needed at this time as we receive more details*

Wednesday, June 21st- Please arrive at the ballpark NO LATER THAN 5:15. Again, families will enter through the main gate and gymnasts will meet at the 1st Base Gate. Gymnasts need to be at the meeting point by 5:45. This performance will also be before the first pitch.

*If your child is participating in the June 4th Dockhounds Exhibition, please have them come to the rehearsal at Wildcard on Friday, June 2nd from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Please make every effort to get your gymnast here so we can practice with all the Teams!!! This includes Boys and new Level 2s!!

Parade Attire: Tennis shoes with socks, (ideally, black) stretchy winter gloves to protect hands from the road, and Fourth of July Apparel. We know not everyone has the Tank and Shorts set- some sizes are available in our pro shop, otherwise, we also have Patriotic themed leotards available. If nothing else, please wear purple or Wildcard apparel. Remember a water bottle (to pass) and sunscreen. You can wear red, white and blue gear but don’t bring a ton of extra things with because there will be limited spaces to carry extra items.

Parade Date: Monday, May 29, 2023 

Parade Start Time: 10:30 am 

Reporting Time: 8:45 am -9:15 am – Streets will close beginning at 9:15 and you will be unable to get through  after that time. 

Reporting Location: Elm Grove Village Park, 13600 Juneau Blvd, Elm Grove, WI 53122 

Drop off Locations: All drop offs before the parade will be at Elm Grove Park. All acts & participants must  arrive at the park on Legion Drive from the north. Vehicles will not be able to enter the park from Juneau Blvd.  There are two drop  off locations at the park. 

• The first location is at the footbridge located at the intersection of Legion and Elmhurst. There will be a  large “DROP OFF HERE” sign and Junior Guild Volunteers in neon safety vests to help direct you or  your child to the appropriate staging area. This is a great place to drop off young parade participants! There is NO PARKING or PROLONGED STOPPING near the footbridge.  We will try to have older gymnasts or parents to help walk kids to the spot. We don’t know our staging area just yet. But we usually have a shade tent so look for that. This is probably the best drop off spot.

Pick up– please plan to pick up your gymnast near the BMO Harris at the end of the route (Behind/Kitty Corner) from Sendiks. Please be prompt. I would park your vehicle somewhere near there so gymnasts don’t need to walk all the way back to the parade start.

We could use about 4-5 parents to help with waters and brochures and rounding up children. Let Amy know if you can help! You must be dressed in Wildcard Apparel.

There is NO practice Monday night!

Tickets need to be purchased two weeks prior to the event for the gym to get a portion of the sales AND for the group to sit together. Order today! This Sunday marks two weeks prior to the first event!!!
