State Apparel Orders, AAU Nationals Leotard Orders

BOYS STATE MEET APPAREL ORDER FORM
GIRLS’ STATE MEET APPAREL ORDER FORM
AAU NATIONALS LEOTARD ORDER FORM

Boys’ gymnasts and girls’ optional-level gymnasts,

STATE APPAREL ORDERS are due very soon. Due to a lack of communication from the host gyms for each of the boys and girls meets, we are just finding out about this. Both orders are due Monday, March 4 to Wildcard Gymnastics and we will send orders to the host clubs. Please adhere to this deadline. We cannot guarantee late orders will be processed.

Girls’ t-shirts are $18 and sweatshirts are $35. Personalization will be available at the meet. There is a chance that a limited number of shirts will be available at the meet, but don’t count it. Click here for the girls’ state meet apparel order form.

Boys have different options, including a cotton t-shirt ($15), wicking t-shirt ($20), sweatshirt ($30), flannel pants ($25), or knit cap ($10). As with the girls’ clothes, there is a chance that it will be on sale, but cannot be guaranteed. Click here for the boys’ state meet apparel order form.

Those planning on compete at AAU National Championship Events:

AAU NATIONALS LEOTARD: Also, we’ve come to find out that anyone wishing to compete at AAU Nationals or AAU Junior Olympics this summer will need to purchase the Central District leotard at the same time of meet entry, which is due the first week of March. At these competitions, gymnasts compete for their respective districts, wearing appropriate leotards.

This year, we are participating in the Central District (instead of Wisconsin) and will be getting Team Central leotards. The cost of these is $33 for both boys’ singlet and girls’ leotard. Boys may use their current shorts and pants to go along with the Team Central singlets. The best part is that these leotards are purple, matching our colors. Click here for the AAU Nationals leotard/singlet order form

Please order these leotards by Monday, March 4 as well if you are planning on competing at AAU Nationals (order even if you are considering competing at AAU National events … the price is very reasonable). We will size your gymnast and get the order placed. If you are concerned about your gymnast qualified, please don’t worry about it. We expect all gymnasts to qualify for the nationals events. If a gymnast doesn’t, there is an appeal process we can work through to get a gymnast qualified.

Level 2/3s will practice on Friday again this week due to the Optionals competing in Iowa on Saturday.  Please have the Level 2/3s come from 4:30 -7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1.  They will not practice on Saturday, March 2.

Former Wildcard gymnast, Andrea Gross will be competing for Hamline University on Saturday, March 2 at UW-Whitewater.  We would love to have some Wildcard family there to cheer her on!  This is a great opportunity for our gymnasts to see some excellent collegiate gymnastics in a location close to home.  The meet begins at 5:00 p.m at the Williams Center.  If you are going to watch her, make signs, cheer loudly and let her know she’s missed at Wildcard Gymnastics!

The Butter Braid Fundraiser pastry order forms are due on Friday, March 1st.  Please turn these in promptly so we can get the order placed.  The orders will be delivered on March 11.  Because the orders need to remain frozen, we need everyone to pick up there orders that day.  More details about delivery to come!

If you didn’t already see the link on the Wildcard FaceBook page, you can now watch Wildcard compete live!* (*Provided we can keep a signal.)  This weekend we were able to stream the Boys’ competition and the Girls’ Optionals meet.  You can go back and watch how they did at UStream.com or download the app on your phone or mobile device.   Please note, the boys’ videos aren’t saved on the site yet.  Simply search for Wildcard Gymnastics and the videos are there!  This is a great way to share your child’s accomplishments with friends and family!  Watch for more awesome Wildcard events.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in the Fox6 Wakeup spot.  We are thrilled to have the gym showcased and are proud of all our gymnasts!

Finally, follow Wildcard on Twitter at @Wildcardnews for all the latest updates and blog posts!

AAU National Championships Information

AAU National Championships Information

Once again, Wildcard Gymnastics will be offering gymnasts the opportunity to compete in the AAU National Championship events this summer. Last year, Wildcard gymnasts brought home 52 gold medals from the AAU National Championship events, and this year is your gymnast’s opportunity take home one of those national titles. Both AAU Nationals and Junior Olympics are an amazing experience in that gymnasts from all over the country compete, there are opening/closing ceremonies, and it’s larger than many of the competitions in Wisconsin, with gymnasts competing for the chance to be a national champion.

The two events that are available for gymnasts to compete in are:

AAU Age Group National Championships, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Kissimmee, Fla.
Boys’ Competition: June 15
Girls’ Competition: June 14-16

AAU Junior Olympic Games, Cobo Center, Detroit, Mich.
Girls’ Competition: August 1-2

To participate in either of these two events, gymnasts must qualify by participating in the AAU District Championships, held April 19-21 in Loves Park, Ill. Girls’ gymnasts must score a 29.0 or higher to qualify for the national championship events. Boys’ gymnasts must compete at the district championships to qualify for the national championships. If your gymnast intends on competing at a national championship event, please register and pay for the District Championship meet by Feb. 28.

The cost to compete at the national championship competitions is $75 each.

The deadline to register for the AAU Age Group National Championships is May 5.
The deadline to register for the AAU Junior Olympic Games is June 28.

GYMNASTS WILL NOT BE REGISTERED IF NOT PAID IN FULL BY THE DEADLINE.

We will not be traveling as a team. Participants and their families will be responsible for their own travel. There are hotel specials and Disney World theme park ticket specials (for the AAU Age Group National Championships) available. Please ask about information for these specials. Also, given the proximity to the end of school, we will not be holding a practice session in Orlando like we have in the past.

We hope many of you can attend these unique and fun national championship events.
