Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

Reminder: no practice due to water shut off. Athlete can get an open gym pass from the front desk.

Here are some things you and/or your athlete can do to stay fresh and focused, especially with the upcoming meet this weekend.

1. Stretching and Conditioning: Engage in flexibility routines and light conditioning exercises to maintain strength and flexibility.
2. Visualization Techniques: Spend time visualizing routines and movements to reinforce muscle memory and boost confidence.
3. Nutrition Prep: Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks to ensure optimal energy levels leading up to the meet.
4. Mindfulness and Relaxation: Practice mindfulness or meditation exercises to help reduce anxiety and improve focus.
5. Review Technique Videos: Watch recordings of past routines or instructional videos to analyze performance and identify areas for improvement. You can find all women’s routines right here on the blog site!

These activities can help keep athletes engaged and ready for competition!

Sorry! The city just informed us that the water is being shut off again on Monday, October 7th. Recreational classes can schedule a make up or ask for an open gym pass. Since this is the 2nd time for Team practice to be canceled, Team gymnasts will receive a free open gym pass for an evening open gym (just not the Trunk or Treat night!).

With some time between meets, this is the perfect time to reflect on your athlete’s progress and set up some private lessons, if needed. Amy*, KK*, Jes, Steph, Ella, Nadiya, and Emily all have availability. Please text your preferred coach to arrange a lesson (or two).

*Note Amy and KK have limited availability because their slots are getting filled quickly. Amy has 11:30-12:30 and 12:30-1:30 available Oct. 6. KK has 12-3 available Oct. 5 and 10:30-12:30 available Oct. 6.

There are 3 “classes” of coaches: 

Master:  Amy or Nadiya  $50/hr

Apprentice:  Stephanie $40/hr

Instructor:  KK, Emily $40/hr  & Ella  $30 – skills only $30 

• Most coaches are proficient in ALL the routines and skills. 
• You must cancel any private lessons with 36 hour notice or you will be charged.  
• Please pay your coach directly with cash, Venmo or check.  
• Money is due at the beginning of the lesson. 
• Sign up for as many privates as you want to get your gymnast caught up!!!

On October 5th, Saturday Night Open Gyms begin again!!! I am in need of a few parents to help out with Open Gyms on Saturdays. Typically there are 2 people (3 if they start getting busy). 1 person at the front desk and 2 in the gym. Duties: check in guests, take money, supervise the gym area for safety, put away mats and clean up gym, lobby and bathrooms. Times: 6:30 p.m. Arrive – 9 p.m. Close (Open Gym runs from 7-8:30 p.m.) You receive a comp towards tuition and your gymnast & family receive free open gym that night! We will start having the Level 3s come to Level 4 practice on Tuesdays starting October 1st!!! (New prices will be in effect for Oct then!) Can’t wait to start up training! Please let Amy know if your gymnast is NOT going to be attending Level 4 Tuesdays.

The city of Brookfield is making upgrades to the water system. Water will be shut off during this time. Morning classes will still run They have a tentative rain date of Wednesday 09/25. Follow the blog to stay notified of any changes.

Hi everyone, just a reminder that the Google form and payment are due tomorrow.
Out of respect for everyone’s time, I will not be able to take individual photos for anyone who doesn’t have this form filled out and payment sent. Even if your child is not getting individual pictures and will only be in the team pic please use the form. That option is on there.

I’m doing my best to run this as smooth as possible, but right now only about 1/3 of team kids have done the form and paid.
Also, I have some forms sent, waiting on payment, if you need a reminder if you’ve paid or not plz lmk.
