Wildcard Gymnastics Team News

Amy will be placing one last order THIS Friday 2/5 for any warm up jackets, pants and tank tops.  You must email your order to amyg@wildcard-gymnastics.com in order for Amy to receive your order in time.  Your gymnastics account will be billed or you may pay by check at Friday practice.

ALL New Level 2s should be ordering these!  Cost is $165 for the entire warm-up.  Tank tops are optional for an additional $45.  Fast Track gymnasts, this will be your only opportunity to purchase a warm-up until 2017.  We do not order again until then.

PS- more info on upcoming meets for Level 2 will be forthcoming.  Though we are only planning on the Carousel Meet, April 9-10 and our home meet we are hoping to host at the end of April/early May.  Your fees will be applied to AAU registration and meet entries.  The meets have been more expensive than we anticipated but we will keep you informed.

Let’s have everyone arrive at 8:00am in case the meet is already running ahead of schedule. Please be sure to bring things to keep them occupied in between flights. Because we have previously experienced being quite cold, do not hesitate bringing a small blanket, gloves, extra socks, etc to keep them warm.

We will be going to M&M this Saturday, January 30th for Open Gym but will not be attending on February 6th. If this should happen to change, you will be notified.

This is our last meet before State. State is Sunday, April 3 in Sun Prairie. All gymnasts have qualified for State. Please let us know if you do not plan on attending. Once more information about State is received it will be shared. In the meantime, we will attend as many Open Gym sessions as possible in order to prepare.

Due to the Altius Pink Meet (and the sessions being held on Friday night & lack of coaches that night) – ONLY competing Optionals and Xcel Gold will practice that night from 4:30-7:00 p.m.  NO Level 2, 3, 4 and New Level 6s will practice that night.  Enjoy your night off or come cheer for Crystal, Anastasia and Hattie!  There will be NO Xcel Gold practice on Saturday, 1/30.

Xcel Bronze will not practice Thursday, 1/28 and will practice Friday 1/29 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

We will still be holding Open Gym on Friday night from 8:30-10 p.m.

This is the last call for the Midwest Twisters Harley Meet as posted before. I do have a NEW Level 2 and (NEW Level 6s) interested in trying the meet but only if there are any old Level 2s that want to do it. Please let me know by noon tomorrow! I am going to assume that unless I hear from you (Optionals or Xcel) that I should just bill the additional amount to your account… PLEASE let me know if you are NOT doing the meet.

PS- We finally have had success for getting into the AAU registration. We are planning to go to the Carousel Meet (Levels 2-7 AAU) April 9-10th in Plover (Cost of this meet is $55 due February 1st). ALL gymnasts competing AAU will need to purchase or renew their AAU membership. Cost is $75. (NEW Level 2s – I believe there was $30 anticipated for this fee but it has since gone up per AAU). Also, cross your fingers but we may push the Wildcard Cruise Classic (or something a little different) to May and attempt to host an AAU/Xcel meet in May here at Wildcard!! Lastly, AAU Nationals is being hosted at Disney World in Orlando the weekend of June 30-July 3rd. We would love to take a group! Please let Amy or Rhea know if you are interested. AAU has since canceled Junior Olympics (in Houston) so this will be our only chance at our National titles! I know we have some gymnasts that need to defend their titles!!

Lastly, just to communicate, in the past there have usually been a few AAU meets to pick up during Jan-April, however, this year it has been pretty sparce pickings. We are doing our best to find additional meets. USAG meets during this time are typically considered Invitationals and the price on these has raised drastically (probably because they are being hosted off-site) – Typically these meets for compulsory gymnasts (Level 2-5) cost about $100 and $125 for Optionals (Levels 6-9).
